Software Licence & Digital Download Terms

These terms apply to paid WordPress and WooCommerce software purchased directly from Arthena Web Solutions.

Last updated: 4 September 2026

1. Seller Information

Seller: Arthena Web Solutions
Email: admin@arthena.co.uk
Website: https://www.arthena.co.uk
Business address: Borrowed Moments, Merlin House NP18 2HJ

2. Products and Compatibility

These terms apply to downloadable WordPress and WooCommerce software sold directly by Arthena. The supported WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP versions shown on the relevant product page at the time of purchase form part of the product description.

3. Open-Source Software Licence

Where the software package states that it is licensed under the GNU General Public License, including GPL-2.0-or-later, your rights to use, study, modify and redistribute the GPL-covered code are governed by that licence.

The commercial Arthena licence key does not replace or restrict the GPL rights granted with GPL-covered plugin code. It controls access to Arthena's hosted activation, licensed update, download and support services.

Arthena names, logos and other trademarks are not licensed for misleading use or for representing redistributed software as an official Arthena release when it has been materially changed.

4. Arthena Licence Service Term

Unless the relevant product page states otherwise, a paid one-site licence provides access for one live WordPress / WooCommerce website to Arthena's hosted licence and update service for 12 months from purchase.

  • A one-site licence permits one active site registration at a time.
  • The site can be deactivated and moved to another site where the licence service allows it.
  • Additional active sites require an additional or higher-tier Arthena licence.
  • The licence does not renew automatically unless that is explicitly stated at checkout.

When the Arthena service term expires, the installed GPL-covered plugin code is not automatically removed. Access to Arthena's licensed update and support service may stop until the licence service is renewed.

5. Price and Payment

The price is shown on the relevant product and checkout pages before payment. Payments are processed securely by Square. A purchase is complete only after Square confirms payment and Arthena marks the order as paid.

6. Digital Delivery

After confirmed payment, Arthena sends the purchaser a licence key and private software download link using the email address supplied during checkout.

Private download links are time-limited and download-limited. Arthena may issue a replacement link where reasonably required.

7. Immediate Supply and Cancellation

At checkout, the purchaser is asked to expressly request immediate supply of the digital content and acknowledge that supply will begin before the normal cancellation period ends.

Where the law provides a right to cancel, that right may end once supply of the digital content begins after the required express consent and acknowledgement. Nothing in these terms removes statutory rights relating to faulty, misdescribed or non-conforming digital content.

8. Refunds and Problems

Digital-content refunds are not normally available after supply has begun where the purchaser gave the required consent and acknowledgement, except where required by law.

Contact Arthena promptly if:

  • the download is corrupt or unavailable;
  • the software is materially different from its description;
  • the software does not work on a supported version stated at purchase; or
  • you believe you were charged incorrectly.

9. Installation and Backups

The purchaser is responsible for maintaining an appropriate website and database backup before installation or updating. Arthena is not responsible for faults caused by unsupported environments, unrelated plugins, themes, hosting restrictions or third-party modifications.

10. Licence and Update Service Data

The Arthena licence and update service may process the licence key, site URL, plugin version, WordPress version and WooCommerce version in order to activate the site, enforce the purchased site limit, validate the licence and provide licensed updates.

Purchase records may also include the purchaser's name, email address, order reference, payment status, licence status, activation site URLs and download-delivery information. See the Privacy Policy for further information.

11. Support and Updates

During an active Arthena licence-service term, reasonable email support is included for installation and defects relating to the supported product versions. Licensed updates may be made available through the plugin's WordPress update interface.

Support does not include unrelated website work, custom development, third-party conflicts or platform upgrades unless separately agreed.

12. Service Availability

Arthena will use reasonable care to operate the licence, download and update services, but temporary interruption may occur because of maintenance, hosting faults, internet outages or third-party services.

13. Liability

Arthena will provide the software and services with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to statutory rights, Arthena is not responsible for indirect losses, loss of profit, loss of data or business interruption caused by unsupported systems, third-party software, hosting faults or failure to maintain suitable backups.

14. Changes to These Terms

The terms applying to a purchase are those shown when the order is placed. Updated terms may apply to later purchases or renewal of the Arthena service.
